CCS researchers identify new cell adhesion mechanisms involved in AML pathogenesis

ree

The Hartmann group in collaboration with other CCS researchers and international collaboration partners identified a novel mechanistic role of the CD44 cell adhesion molecule, which enhances AML cell retention in the supportive bone marrow microenvironment. The study suggests new therapeutic approaches by targeting the CD44 signaling axis in AML patients. The manuscript has been accepted for publication in Haematologica (Gutjahr et al.).
