(Salzburg, Vienna, June 14, 2023) Scientists around CCS member Dr Nikolas Fortelny and his team and Dr. Sabine Taschner-Mandl from the St. Anna Children's Cancer Research Institute have for the first time analyzed bone marrow metastases of childhood tumors of the nervous system using modern single-cell analysis. The results show that cancer cells prevent certain cells in their environment from fighting the tumor - a process that could be reversed by drugs.
